I am Dasha Leidy, an actress and an artist. Born in Kazakhstan and raised in Russia, I feel as though my unique background has given me clearer insight to who I am as a person and performer now living in Los Angeles. After having a successful ballroom dancing career, participating on Dancing With The Stars in Russia, hosting television shows and doing film work, I moved to the US to pursue my acting further. It was quite a leap of faith but I knew if I pursued my dreams, everything else would follow. Thus I enrolled in The Lee Strasberg Institute in Los Angeles. During this time, I joined The Group Theatre there at Strasberg acting in stage productions for plays based on the work of Chekhov and Tennessee Williams. After graduating from the program and receive my AOS degree from Strasberg, I moved to New York and performed under the guidance of Lyle Kessler: a head member of the Playwright-Directors Unit at Actors Studio. Beside my passion for acting, I am an artist who has been heavily inspired by German expressionism with a formal background from an art-and-architecture preparatory school in Siberia. Armed with my mentors’ encouragement and my drive for self growth and mutual success, I look forward to elevate and learn from future collaborative projects. Currently I reside in Los Angeles with my partner David Leidy and our daughter Savannah performing in theatre, independent films and music videos.
